A Conservation Town With Mature, Protected Trees
Banff is the furthest west of the areas we cover regularly, and it's a different kind of job to the others — a genuinely historic town, much of the centre a conservation area, with Duff House and its parkland sitting right on the edge of it. Trees in a conservation area need six weeks' written notice to the council before any work, even routine pruning, and a fair number of the older gardens around the Georgian townhouses have individual Tree Preservation Orders on top of that. We build the permissions check into the quote stage here as standard, because it's usually the thing that decides the timeline, not the tree work itself.
Away from the conservation area, Banff's outskirts and the farmland toward the coast are more like our other rural work — hedging, shelterbelt maintenance and stock fencing for smallholdings and farms.
